Fake Aadhar Number Automatically Added To Your Contact List – Delete ASAP
In the month of August 2018, a viral news got circulated in the internet which stated that a fake UIDAI number is being added to your contact list. It has happened again now. From the last two days many people had been complaining of a toll free number being automatically added to the contact list.
What surprised many people is the fact that – how it’s showing UIDAI number in phone book without even saving it manually. For an instance, if you type UIDAI in phone book it throws the 11-digit toll-free number, which says not available on dialing.
Last Year a team of Entrackr asked almost 10 people out of which four had pre-saved UIDAI number. All of them had confirmed that they never saved the shown number in their contacts but after two days of this news ,Google the Android operating system provider accepted that it had done it.
The company in a statement apologising said that an internal review has revealed that in 2014, the then UIDAI helpline number and the 112 distress helpline number were inadvertently coded into the SetUp wizard of the Android release given to OEMs for use in India and has remained there since.
Now in this new year this news raised new concerns regarding security of adhaar and other digitally connected devices. If you find any suspicious toll free numbers like – 1800-300-1947 in your contact list, delete it immediately.
