France Knocks Out Messi And Team From Fifa World Cup 2018
Argentina is out of the Fifa 2018 World Cup, and France is moving on. France becomes the first team to enter into quarter finals by beating Argentina by a thrilling 4-3.
Though Argentina took a 2-1 lead in the second half, but the french team scored three quick goals to put it away. Kylian Mbappe stole the show with two goals while also winning a penalty kick. A lovely free-kick from Paul Pogba set him free, running at Argentina’s arthritic defence, who resorted to type, scything him down in a sandwich between Javier Mascherano and Nicolas Tagliafico.
Di Maria’s goal cancelled out Antoine Griezmann’s early penalty to put Argentina on equal terms just before the break, while Pavard’s in the 57th minute levelled up the scores at 2-2 after Argentina had gone ahead through Gabriel Mercado.
This win for the young french team lead them to the quarter-finals where they will play with Uruguay.
For Lionel Messi this World Cup is over and also there are a lot of chances that it was his last chance. Many a great player has never won the World Cup, and it seems ever more likely that Lionel Messi will end up on that list.
