NBA Playoff 2018 Predictions: a showdown with familiar foe LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers
After a 164 regular-season games and 10 playoff contests between them, Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are finally where everyone expected them to be: head-to-head in one of the most anticipated Western Conference finals ever.
The four teams many tabbed before the season to meet in their respective NBA conference finals are set to square off, and while the two in the West got there in predictable fashion, the Cavaliers and Celtics look a lot different than they did when they began the season. Cleveland traded nearly its entire roster at the deadline, and Boston had to overcome an absurd number of injuries, including the loss of stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward.
MVP: Stephen Curry — 29 points, six assists per game
Kevin Durant (GS) — 23 pts, 6 reb, 5 ast
Draymond Green (GS) — 12 pts, 8 reb, 10 ast
Klay Thompson (GS) — 19 pts
James Harden (HOU) — 26 pts, 4 ast
Chris Paul (HOU) — 20 pts, 9 ast
Clint Capela (HOU) — 8 pts, 9 reb
Eric Gordon (HOU) — 15 pts
With these two teams, it’s not surprising that 3-point shooting often were key to who won the game. The team that made the most 3-pointers at a higher percentage won over 80 percent of the time. The majority of the time that there was a large discrepancy in 3-point shooting, the games ended in double-digit blowouts.
